Traveling in Jordan: Day 2: The Karak Castle

The entrance of Karak Castle

We had to walk up some stairs to reach it.

Can't get enough of the views!

Here's some of the castle. The man in the jean jacket was our tour guide.

Here we are, looking cute.

Kids playing around the castle.

A hallway

That's right! We went towards the light at the end of the tunnel!

This was a warrior mans chest, carved in the stone.

The city across the mountain

Ahhhh, sunsets

The tour guide had us do some Indiana Jones poses.

If you know me, I always love a good sunset.

Our trip through the mountains continued to the Castle of Karak. This was an old old stone castle from way back in the day (I'm not good with history, so I don't know the exact date). We had a tour guide to show us around and tell us about the castle, and explain some of the different rooms inside. He was a cool tour guide and photographer as well, so he always had suggestions for picture spots and poses. Inside the castle, there were different rooms that used to be the church, a bakery, a dining hall, a dungeon, and things of that sort. There were lots of lookout windows, which showed some pretty sweet views. During our nice little tour though, there was this little boy (maybe 10 years old or so), following us. At first he asked for money, and our guide told him to go away, but he kind of kept following us. I had the vibe that maybe he wanted to steal our cameras, but who knows. Anyways, our tour finished with the sunset, and I always love sunsets. I feel that sunsets are always worth stopping to notice, especially if it is a really beautiful sunset. The sunsets here in the Middle East are nice, but I still feel that I have seen far more spectacular ones in Pittsburgh. Nonetheless, it was beautiful to look at, and most certainly worthwhile.
