Awesome Girls Weekend in Dubai (night 1)

Dubai. Wow! What a great great place. I am so happy that we did a girls weekend here. It is just amazing, and sadly to say, it is way more awesome than Bahrain. So, after the incredibly stressful International Day which we celebrate on Thursday at school, Rachel and I were so ready to hop on the plane. We got our things packed after school and made our way towards the airport, where we met our friend Letitia. At the airport, we stocked up on the essentials from the Duty Free shop (because in Dubai, you cannot go to the liquor store without having a license to purchase, which is only obtained if you own a bar in Dubai). 

The flight was short, no more than an hour, and then we landed. Yay! Of course, to start the night off right, Rachel practically knocked out the 2 Arab men behind up when she opened the overhead compartment. Tish and I were laughing, and Rach was maybe a bit embarrassed, but the guys somewhat laughed it off, only to laugh more when we removed 8 bottles from the compartment as well. You would think the end of the world was near.

So, the first cool thing about Dubai is the taxi service. As ladies, we have the choice of taxis. We can choose a regular taxi, or we can do the Ladies Only Taxi, which is pictured above with pink. The taxi's are cute and they smell nice inside. And the lady drivers wear an all pink uniform. It's very nice, and we really enjoyed that. Also, the taxi's are inexpensive, so that was a plus as well.

The apartment we rented for the weekend was awesome! It had to large beds/bedrooms, as well as 2 bathrooms, a living room with a bed/couch, balcony, dining area, and full kitchen. Plus, they stocked us with soda, milk, bread, butter, jam, chips, coffee, juice, dish/glass/silverware. The apartment had a flatscreen t.v., and stereo too. 

Once our friends Catherine and Lauren arrived, we all headed out to a nice bar called 360. It was called this because the bar is an outdoor circle, so you get a nice panoramic view. We didn't make it too late of a night because the next day would be our big day at the music festival. We stopped and Burger King on the way back and had hamburgers and wore crowns. 

By the time we got back, we were exhausted and ready to crash for the night, and rest up for the next day.
